Amber, Harmony and Communication

Hello all ! My name is Amber Tillinghast and I am a hair stylist of 24 years . I am currently self employed and work in Broomfield , Co in a suite . My business is Peridot Hair Lounge and I can be found on IG @peridothairlounge and I totally accept DM’s .

Over the last 24 years, I have had several memorable experiences that have taught me a lot about human interactions. For me, it's the sexy looks in the mirror when I finish or, even better, when people cry. It reinforces the fact that beauty is healing, and I have a powerful gift to create healing and confidence.

I hear personal stories every day that remind me of the power and necessity of human connection at a deep level. I also have met some people who are miserable and think they can suck the life out of me, and I send them on their way. I promote harmony by taking care of myself first, making sure that my environment aligns with my vibe and desires. In that state, I can exude joy and have leftover energy to give life to others around me. If I’m not in alignment, I make necessary changes to ensure that I can be.

Once I had a client who was uncomfortable answering questions about her hair, such as “how did your hair perform for you?” and “Did you receive compliments on your hair?” She let me know that she didn’t want me to ask about her hair and she would let me know if she wanted anything different. Well, that created a stifling feeling for me as well as some awkwardness and resentment. I sent her an email and let her know that we were no longer a good fit and I would be referring her out. She responded, letting me know how much she liked my work and wanting to discuss this over a phone call. I called her, we cleared the air, and continued in a harmonious relationship.

I think the biggest qualities that encourage a healthy environment are respect and honesty, in that order. Without those things, harmony is impossible. Having boundaries for ourselves and being able to communicate them in a respectful way that is heard and honored is of the utmost importance.
